Skin Conditions

Many skin conditions are associated with poor skin quality that cause great discomfort to the sufferer. These conditions include psoriasis, dermatitis of many types (including neurodermatitis) and in individuals with sensitive skin.
Poor skin quality is associated with dry and cracking skin lesions and recently it has been found that active ingredients found in plants can improve the quality of the skin and help ease the discomfort.

Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition in which pink scaly patches form on the skin at the elbows, knees, scalp and other parts of the body. It is the commonest skin disease in the UK affecting approximately 2% of the population. The cause of the disorder is unknown but it is often present in different generations of families and it may be associated with arthritis.
Treatment relies on topical preparations but in severe cases oral therapies of powerful drugs that prevent cell division can be used.

PhytoSkin provides a range of products that improve skin condition and improve the symptoms and appearance of psoriasis.

Dermatitis
Dermatitis is an inflammatory condition that affects the skin. It has many forms that include many causes. Dermatitis can be due to contact of outside agents (contact dermatitis), or can be allergic reactions or it can present as eczema.

Neurodermatitis
Neurodermatitis is a form of dermatitis that is often called lichen simplex. It usually takes the form of thickened eczematous skin that forms at sites exposed to continuous rubbing of the skin in susceptible individuals. Common sites are the nape of the neck in women and the lower legs in men. The condition is often made worse by stress

Sensitive skin
Sensitive skin occurs widely in individuals and causes discomfort and may even progress into the formation of areas of dermatitis.

PhytoSkin offers benefits but the relevant cream for application is determined by skin type and the degree of moisturising ability contained within the cream.

  • Normal Skin requires application with the cream that is applied to psoriatic skin conditions for day and night application.

  • Dry Skin requires application with the cream that is applied to neurodermatological skin for day and night application.
